You may have read in a recent blog about one of our clients, Dianne Keil. One aspect of her story hit me particularly hard. She told us that her hearing had been declining for seven years. “I tried everything,” she told us. “I never got lucky.”
Seven years.
Of course her story eventually had a happy ending — thanks to a visit to her senior center by our Outreach Coordinator, Kerstin Brucki.
But it haunts me that Dianne — and so many more like her — had to go for years with impaired hearing before she found her way to LSH.
Every year we’re increasing our efforts to get the word out, and more and more people have found out about us — but if you’re reading this, I’m hoping you might also be a part of the solution. Hearing loss is very common, especially among older adults. Many can’t afford hearing aids.
