September Is Deaf Awareness Month

To celebrate, three-day virtual concert will benefit California School for the Deaf.

From Sept.18 to 20, performers from across the Coachella Valley and beyond will come together to present “Cabaret Cares” online via Facebook, the Desert Sun reports.

To help commemorate Deaf Awareness Month, C4 Communication owners Carlos and Christopher Itai Cardona have partnered with local artist and performer Marina Mac to hold a three-day virtual benefit concert online to raise money for the California School for the Deaf in Riverside (CSDR).

All shows are free but donations will be accepted. The goal is to raise $5,000, which will benefit the educational programs at CSDR, where many local deaf and hard of hearing students from the Coachella Valley attend.

All performers are volunteering their time to appear in the benefit, and each song will be interpreted in American Sign Language (ASL).
