Safety System Uses Camera to Detect Drowsy Drivers


New eyeSight technology follows driver’s eyes.

The Israeli computer vision company eyeSight prevents drowsy or distracted driving using a single camera embedded into the windshield or rear-view mirror, The Tower reports.

The system uses proprietary algorithms and artificial intelligence (AI) to judge if the driver is in control.

The technology detects the direction of a driver’s gaze, pupil dilation, eye openness and head position to gauge drowsiness vs. attentiveness.
