Occupational noise-induced hearing loss is the most common job-related condition in the United States, Medical News Today reports.

And in recent years, scientists have shown that noise exposure damages more than just hearing.
Some studies have concluded that exposure to noise might negatively influence cardiovascular health and even digestive health.

The authors of a recent study decided to focus on its effect on hypertension and as expected, the prevalence of hearing loss increased with the number of years that the participants had spent working with occupational noise exposure.

They also found a correlation between noise exposure and increased incidences of hypertension.
