Mobile Phone Ban in UK Schools Would Create Hardship for Deaf Students

This year has forced big changes in schools, Deaf advocate Mike Hobday writes in The Guardian, but too often there is little to no consideration of deaf students’ needs.

“This time it’s banning mobile phones in schools,” he writes. (Education secretary wants ban on mobile phones in English schools).

“It’s understandable that ministers see them as a problem in class, but what about the thousands of deaf pupils who rely on theirs?”
