Does LSH help with hearing aid costs, even with insurance?Hearing
All too often, even if you have insurance, the copay can be too high or the procedure you need is not even covered.
- Hearing aids are usually not covered by Medicare.
- Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C) may cover hearing aids, but often has high co-pays and deductibles.
- Medi-Cal covers the expense of hearing aids up to $1,510 per person per fiscal year (only a portion of total cost).
This leaves thousands of people in our 12 California counties unable to afford hearing aids. If you have private insurance, talk directly with your insurance carrier and ask whether hearing aids and associated costs are covered, partially or fully. If you don’t have the insurance coverage to make hearing aids affordable, LSH may be able to help with the cost of your hearing aids.
