Amid all the drama that 2020 has brought us, I wanted to pause for a moment and remember two of our own. Earlier this year we lost PDG Bill Walters, and just this month our former president, Hall Stearns, passed away.
For many of us, the loss is personal: both Hal and Bill were wonderful human beings and good friends.
But these two also played central roles here at LSH, and without them we would not be the thriving organization we are today.
A member of the LSH Board of Directors for many years, Bill was one of those people who could light up a room. We will sorely miss his boundless enthusiasm for our mission.
As Bill used to say: “It’s not a little thing we’re doing.”
As for Hal, he skillfully guided the foundation through the merger of two Lions organizations to form LSH in 2009 and served for many years, holding many positions on the LSH Board of Directors. Under his guidance, we achieved a new level of professionalism and widened our mission to include a successful hearing program.
We were incredibly lucky to have both these visionary people on our team, and we already miss them terribly.
