Let’s face it: we’re pretty lucky here in California, especially near the coast.
When we complain about the weather, some of my friends who live in the snowbound Middle West or the steamy-humid South start shaking their heads. They may have a point.
I know at least one person who lost the AC in her car and didn’t bother to get it fixed for two years. There were only a few days a year, she reasoned, when it became a real problem. And with an older car, an expensive repair like that may not seem practical.
But this year — this year is different. This weekend, once again, temperatures are set to soar. No AC? Chances are you won’t drive anywhere.
And if that fix — or any other big-ticket repair — looks too daunting, here’s another idea. Donate the vehicle to LSH, where it will help fund our programs to restore sight and hearing to folks in your communities who can’t afford the help they need.
It’s so easy — we take care of everything, including paperwork for your taxes and towing, if necessary, and it’s a totally socially distant process.
We’ll accept just about any conveyance, from boats to trailers to RVs and motorcycles.
And if you’re feeling sentimental about the old ride, think about the gift you’ll be giving. Giving someone their hearing or vision back is a pretty great feeling.
